This painting depicts a view of Southport Harbor as seen from the historic "Ye Yacht Yard" in Southport, Connecticut.  A favorite spot of mine to teach plein air painting classes, this painting was inspired by a demonstration painting done a couple of years ago.  There is a beautiful warm light washing over the harbor as the sun lowers in the sky, illuminating the boats and buildings.  Gentle reflections are created in the calm waters. It was a vision that created a radiating peace and calm.
